Served as Chief Economist for Oman Vision 2040 Taskforce and at the Central Bank of Oman. Acted as an advisor on foreign direct investment (FDI) to both International Monetary Fund(IMF) and Oman’s Supreme Council for Planning. Awarded British Embassy Scholarship to obtain a Master’s degree in economics from a British University. Awarded a PhD from the University of London’s King’s College. A regular contributor to leading policy forums. Published Thesis on the “Impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on efficiency of the private sector and contributions towards the economic development process in Oman”. The study examined the extent to which Gulf oil-producing countries are utilizing inward investment to improve the productivity of domestic manufacturing firms, with specific reference to Oman. Published articles and books on regional economic and business issues that include notable contributions.
