Dr. Fatma M. Al-Hakmani is a Consultant in Occupational and Family Medicine and Director of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman. She holds Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), UK, and a Master’s degree in Occupational Medicine from the University of Aberdeen. 

Dr. Al-Hakmani has extensive experience in occupational and environmental health and leads several national programs, including occupational health services, migrant medical fitness, injury prevention, radiation protection, healthcare waste management, and climate change and health. She has contributed to the development of national policies, guidelines, and standards in occupational health, fitness for work, and the evaluation of permanent impairment. 

At the national level, she works closely with the Social Protection Fund and the Ministry of Labour on matters related to occupational injuries and diseases, disability and impairment evaluation, rehabilitation, and return-to-work services, contributing to the development of regulatory frameworks and evidence-based approaches that strengthen worker protection and social protection systems in Oman. 

Dr. Al-Hakmani also represents Oman in regional and international collaborations with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Gulf Health Council, and other partners, contributing to policy development, technical initiatives, capacity building, and the advancement of occupational and environmental health practices.
