Public Health Consultant
Dr. Abdullah Ali Nasser Al Maniri is a public health leader, researcher, and strategist with over two decades of experience shaping healthcare policy and practice in Oman and beyond. He holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the Karolinska Institute, a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Sultan Qaboos University.
As faculty at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University, he taught and mentored graduate and undergraduate public health students, later serving as a visiting professor at the University of Bremen and Hasselt University. He has authored nearly 60 peer-reviewed publications and supervised and mentored many master's and doctoral theses.
His public health impact is most visible in his leadership of Oman's national strategic research program on road safety, directing international collaborations across the United Kingdom, United States, Sweden, and Australia. At the Ministry of Health, he has driven major transformation initiatives, including organizational restructuring, the National Digital Health Strategy anf the health sector national five year plan ( 2026-2030). He also led strategic reengineering at the Omani Medical Specialty Board, training hundreds of physicians in research and data analysis.
