The activities of Oman Patient Safety Month launched today (Wednesday) by the Ministry of Health, represented by the Quality Assurance Centre, under the theme “Safe Care for a Life.” The initiative forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of patient safety and advance healthcare practices. The launch was held under the patronage of Dr. Siham bint Salim Al Sinani, Chief Executive Officer of the University Medical City, at the Ministry’s Headquarters.
The launch coincided with the opening of a health awareness exhibition, which will run for two days with the participation of several public and private healthcare institutions and civil society associations. The exhibition targets government employees and visitors, offering a range of health and awareness services, including health screenings, early detection services, and medical consultations, in addition to a number of educational and awareness initiatives.
The activities aim to enhance health awareness and promote the prevention of chronic diseases, while reinforcing patient safety as a fundamental component of quality healthcare. They also seek to encourage members of the community to adopt healthy lifestyles that contribute to disease prevention and the promotion of overall health and well-being.
It is worth mentioning that the health awareness exhibition provides visitors with an opportunity to benefit from health screenings, consultation services, and early detection programs. These services contribute to improving access to health information and preventive practices, while raising awareness of the importance of early detection and adherence to healthy behaviors.
